The successful candidate will be part of a global development team working on a significant new development project. The project is highly visible and will have far reaching impact. The system comprises a rich web-based UI, significant middle tier built in Java, and a DB2 database backend. We are looking for a senior Java/database developer who is motivated, self starter and can get hands on with the latest tools and technologies. As a full time employee, it is expected that the developer will take advantage of Firm programs to grow technical and soft skills to advance career.

Skills Required

• 5-8 years of strong Java development experience including advanced skills like multi – threading

• Expertise in development tools such as Eclipse, Ant, JUnit

• Hands on experience with Spring

• Experience in designing enterprise level Java applications using standard design patterns and frameworks

• Working knowledge of Java 1.6 generics, annotations

• 5-8 years of strong relational database experience, specifically DB2 on Linux

• Expertise writing stored procedures, functions and triggers

• Experience writing DB2 handlers, and DB2 performance tuning

• Experience in tools such as Erwin, DBArtisan

• Good knowledge of AOP, Spring transaction management, multi threaded programming

• Good analytical and technical design skills

• Hands-on experience with SDLC including change management

• Good communication skills

• Perl or Shell scripting

Skills Desired

• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, XML, SOAP and CXF)

• Data modeling
